One vital fact that your sponsor invariably doesn’t share with you when you get started in network marketing is that around 95% of people will say no when you ask them to take a look at your business.
Don’t take this personally – it isn’t you they’re rejecting. If you concentrate on seeking out people who are looking for an income opportunity, as opposed to pitching your business to everyone who breathes, you’ll increase your chances.
But my number one network marketing tip is to make sure there’s money coming in while you’re prospecting to build your business. So if you could find a way of offering this 95 per cent something that’s of real value to them, that they would happily pay you for, wouldn’t that be cool?
To profit from the 95 per cent who say no, you need three things:
1. A proven marketing method for generating targeted leads.
Don’t rely on your “warm list” to build your network marketing business. You should target people who are ALREADY looking for a business opportunity. In all probability you won’t know too many of these, so go find them online. Educate yourself about the different marketing strategies for finding hot prospects on the internet, pick one or two that appeal – and get really, really good at them!
2. A funded proposal.
A funded proposal pays you commissions from those who join your network marketing business – and those who don’t – by offering lower-priced items up front that they truly do need. Such items might include lead generation training, web hosting accounts and autoresponder services. Maybe even an article marketing course. This income will fund your business as it grows and build a list of prospects who come to know, like and trust you, as you provide the network marketing training they so badly need.
Don’t worry, you don’t need to create your own products – not yet, anyway.
3. An easily set up, customizable system that brands YOU (not your business), is easy to duplicate and makes money on autopilot.
One of the best network marketing tools out there is an attraction marketing system, complete with customizable capture pages, valuable training and a number of built-in affiliate programmes. What an attraction marketing system does is enable you to attract the right prospects to you, online. Prospects who are serious about network marketing and looking for information that will help them to build their businesses.
Some of these people will eventually join you in your business. Most won’t. But many will want to take advantage of the essential network marketing tools that you’ll be offering as an affiliate – and you’ll receive an income when they purchase.
It’s tricky to choose between maintaining positive cash flow and generating sufficient quality leads as my best network marketing tip. They’re both vital, but cash flow wins by a whisker. If it takes longer than anticipated to find good people for your business, who cares so long as the money is coming in.
