All I want are Free Network Marketing Leads…

Oh boy, have I heard that a few times.  I’ve even said that a few times. All I want are Free Leads…

Then I found a couple of strategies that really seemed to resonate with me. They really fit into my business and fit with who I am with relation to this Network Marketing thing.  The first one that really fit for me was the Article Marketing strategy.  It is about sharing who you are with people and sharing what you know in a way that helps you generate those free Network Marketing Leads.

The basic strategy looks like this:

- Write an Article
- Publish that article to the free Article Directories
- Have a blog or landing page for people who read your articles want to know more about you
- Have an offer to convert the clicks to your blog or landing page to leads

That’s it.  It sounds so simple.  The tough part is doing it consistently.

So write an article and when you write the article have something to say that others may want to read.  Give them some knowledge you have that they might not have or that they might want.  Think of the questions that your target audience might be asking such as:  Where does one get free Network Marketing Leads? What keeps them up at night?  What are they afraid of?  What makes them Angry?  Who makes them Angry?  If you are answering some or all of those questions people will want to read what you’re writing.

Publish the article to the Free Article Directories.  You can find those by doing a Google search on Article Directories or you can even buy some great software (more info on that software at the bottom) that will help you automate your publishing on the article directories.  If you didn’t want to spend any money and had the time you can publish them all on your own. It only costs you time.  However the software makes it a whole lot easier.

Then have that Blog ready to accept those people and have a location to store all of your original articles.  Once people get a sense about who you are they will want to hear more of what you have to say.  Send them to your Blog.  It is the place where you hang out online.

From your blog you want to have something for them.  This is the Offer! This is where you keep all the really good stuff.  This is where they turn into a lead from just a click.  Give them something they don’t already have.  Give them a report on the 3 biggest mistakes you’ve made. Give them a webinar on other strategies you have or use.

So the second one that fit with me was the video marketing.  I haven’t quite worked that one out yet.  I’m not really comfortable in front of a camera so i think I’m going to be doing webinars that are powerpoint based. So on the videos instead of you seeing my pretty face you’ll see my computer desktop and I’ll be showing you how to get these things done through that space.  Once you have a video you send it through all the video, social media, social networking, and podcasting sites as you can.  There are a lot.

Again you can buy software to help you submit that little video you have to all the sites imagined and unimagined.  There really are more than one can count.  Then sit back and wait for the traffic to come in.

Don’t let the word “investing” in the title scare you away. There are excellent free network marketing training programs out there, but even if you don’t invest any money, you will be investing your time and trust in the instructor/creator of the program. What is the useful lifetime of the skills taught in this network marketing training program?

This question is listed first because it is the most frequently overlooked by novice network marketers, especially anyone interested in online network marketing training. The profession of MLM  has been around for 100+ years and some recruiting and sales tactics associated with it have worked well for decades. Beginners should buy beginner courses and experts should buy expert courses. You know which one you are! Don’t let the sales copy for the program convince you otherwise. Start with the basic and work your way up. You can’t do calculus if you’ve never succeeded with algebra or arithmetic.

What is the upfront and ongoing cost of this network marketing training program?

At the risk of angering the creators of many network marketing training programs that I actually really like, I’m coming out against membership-based training programs with an on-going monthly cost. Why? These are great for the program creators, but hardly ever the most cost-effective choice for the consumer. Allow me to explain.

You may have noticed that the credentials of the instructor or program creator are not among the list of 4 questions. This was not an accident. While having done it yourself can be a great route to being an effective teacher, there are plenty of mentors that are not smashing successes themselves, but provide really high quality network marketing training. Think about it. Some pro and college football coaches were elite-level players, but many excellent coaches were only average players. They’ve risen to the top of the coaching ranks despite never having been an elite player because they know how to teach and how to create a system that works.

The conclusion – You shouldn’t buy a network marketing training program from someone who has never been in the business, but you don’t need to restrict yourself to superstars.
